What if a teleportation device were really a duplicator?

Suppose a teleporter in the future made an exact copy of you at the destination, but you remained at the point of departure? Would it be ethical for the transport operator to euthanize the original, so that you won't come into conflict with the copy as to the ownership of property or access to your mate? Would you use that mode of travel?
